BUDOCK VEAN HOTEL AND CLUB

On a quiet bend of the tranquil Helford River in south Cornwall nestles the 4 star Budock Vean Hotel. Set in 65 acres of glorious gardens and woodland, the Budock Vean has a historic and challenging 9 hole/18 tee parkland golf course, designed by the great James Braid in the 1920’s.

The first tee is just a few paces from the hotel’s golf bag room. The seventh on this interesting course was, until recently, the longest Par 5 in the county and the ninth green, ‘The Flower Bowl’ is one of the finest short holes in Cornwall. Climatic conditions are so mild that the course plays exceptionally well all year round. Golf societies are most welcome with discounted stay and play rates.

Golf is free and unlimited for hotel and holiday cottage guests. You can take an interactive online aerial tour of the course, complete with helpful stats and tips on the best way to play each hole. Head to www.budockvean.co.uk/360 and click on the Golf tab, top right.

The Budock Vean has a great reputation for food, plus the onsite leisure facilities and Natural Health Spa make it a great place for a holiday for golfers and non-golfers alike. There are also luxury holiday homes if you prefer self-catering, including one directly overlooking the 3rd tee, plus tennis courts, kayaking and boat trips along the river.
