Nestled in West Sussex among the rolling hills of the South Downs, Cowdray’s golf facilities – located on Cowdray Estate – have never held greater appeal.
With breathtaking panoramic views across the beautiful South Downs, Cowdray’s undulating fairways beautifully meander around the downland landscape. At Cowdray, precision beats power. Although the front nine is long in places, if you can keep the ball straight – and navigate a selection of multi-tiered greens – you can certainly put together the beginnings of a very good round.
An already fantastic and challenging course, the West Sussex club’s golf facilities recently underwent a significant £1 million investment project to elevate it even further. The most notable changes were to the bunkering, with all having been reconstructed, reshaped and integrated into the downland landscape with native grass borders.
Other changes – including the restoration of the famed double green for holes seven and 14 – have all added to the experience at this historic club.
The club also revamped its five-hole par three course as part of the investment project – a fantastic and fun addition to any society day.
Off the course, the food will not disappoint with fantastic locally sourced produce and a great range of options. Playable throughout the year thanks to fantastic drainage from its sandy soils, Cowdray is an ideal location to hold a society day in 2025.
