ELY CITY GOLF COURSE

Ely City Golf Course is a Henry Cotton designed parkland course located on the outskirts of the historic cathedral city of Ely. This traditional Members’ Club was founded in the early 1960s by five local businessmen, who were keen to see a Golf Club in the City. The course was then enlarged from 9 holes to 18 holes in 1973, including its official opening on the 4th July 1973. That same year saw a famous challenge match between the then “Open Champion”, Lee Trevino, and top South African professional, Hugh Baiocchi.

The course provides a true test for golfers of all abilities. Ely City Golf Club prides itself on being one of the friendliest and most welcoming Clubs in the region. Green fees are available all year round, offering non-members the opportunity to enjoy this very special 18-hole golf course. At over 6,500 yards, the Par 72 tree lined course offers a challenge to all golfers. It is no surprise that Ely City Golf Course is a regular choice for Cambridgeshire County events and England Golf regional events.

The newly renovated Clubhouse is an inviting place to relax after your round. It’s welcoming and friendly atmosphere is perfect for a meal with family and friends. Our catering team offer delicious freshly prepared meals with a wide range of options available for all dietary requirements. You will always receive a warm reception from the Clubhouse staff; whether it be before or after your game. We stock a wide range of drinks, including local real ales and a carefully selected wine list.

A well-stocked professional shop can supply everything a player may need, including the latest equipment, club fitting, buggy or trolley hire, plus those last minute essentials before you tee off.
